Marriage Enrichment workshops are sponsored by Marriage Enrichment, Inc., a non-denominational, not-for-profit, nationwide Christian organization. The workshops are developed and copyrighted by Dr. Carl T. Clarke of Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Clarke is a clinical psychologist and former pastor. The organization is dedicated to helping build stronger marriages and families. We believe that Christ is at the center of the marriage relationship, supporting both husband and wife.

Workshops are conducted in cooperation with local churches and other organizations. All leaders are extensively trained according to the certification requirements of Marriage Enrichment Inc.; they serve voluntarily without pay.

  • To develop awareness of spiritual dimensions within a marriage
  • To offer some patterns for incorporating awareness of spiritual dimensions into daily life
  • To become aware of feelings of love, appreciation, understanding, valuing, and respect for each other.

  • Small group dynamics
  • Private communication exercises
  • All exercises have been carefully structured and tested
  • Exercises are designed to build integrally one upon the other

How to sponsor a workshop

Workshops require a minimum of four couples and a maximum or 10 couples per trained Group Leader. The facility that is used will need one large meeting room, one or two small meeting rooms and a private space for each couple to use for their private sharing times. Depending on the workshop schedule that is used, the group will also be sharing two to six meals together. Therefore, there should also be a space where everyone can eat together. Contact our Executive Administrator (see below for contact information) for more details or to set up a workshop.

But few of us take the time to read books on how to have a better marriage.  So, we created the Marriage Minute blog to provide tips to help you have a better marriage. Feel free to read through these and put those that apply to your current situation into practice.

What should I give?

As Christmas approaches, we once again face that familiar question, “What do I get the ones I love?” Advertisers want you to believe that only expensive “things” will truly make your loved ones happy. Our challenge is to give gifts that truly say “I love you” in the language of love that they understand.

The air is getting colder and talk is now about snow and football instead of vacations and baseball. Some of us have had to adjust to being without any children at home. What do you talk about when there are no children and their schedules to discuss?

Working Towards a Degree in Spousology

Many members of our community have started back to school to continue to learn what they need to know in order to be successful in life. In fact, we never really stop learning. We are constantly being bombarded with new information and new products and skills that we have to learn. But does this knowledge help us to become more like Christ? Does it help us to have a greater witness for Christ to our families and our neighbors? To have a marriage that glows with love and Christ?
